About the Founders

Carlos E. Alfaro, Co-Founder 
For nearly 30 years, Carlos E. Alfaro has had the opportunity to work alongside hundreds of entrepreneurs and organization leaders, helping them protect what they've worked so hard to build. A Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) specializing in commercial insurance, Carlos has built a career at the intersection of expertise, trust, and entrepreneurship. His purpose is simple: help business owners and families protect their assets and financial well-being through a consultative approach to insurance planning, coverage placement, and the administration of quality insurance products.

Carlos believes in empowering people to make informed decisions about protecting what matters most. That belief shapes everything he does, from how he works with clients to how he builds and leads his team. His practice is grounded in strong ethics, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to putting the client first. He has always held that sound character drives sound business, and that trust and loyalty are earned through consistency, fairness, and dedication.

Beyond the office, Carlos believes strong communities are built by the people who show up for them. He has had the privilege of serving as an appointed Commissioner on the City of Los Angeles Quality and Productivity Commission and as a member of the Los Angeles Convention and Exhibition Center Authority. Both experiences deepened his commitment to public service and civic progress.

He also finds purpose in pushing his limits. For more than a decade, Carlos devoted himself to endurance sports: running 9 marathons, completing 4 triathlons, and cycling from San Francisco to Los Angeles three times with AIDS/LifeCycle to support its vital fundraising efforts. The discipline and resilience those miles demanded are part of what has shaped how he approaches business and leadership.

Whether in the boardroom, in the community, or on the open road, Carlos is driven by the belief that commitment and consistency create lasting results.

Jose E. Alfaro is co-founder of INSURENEX and Managing Director of the Executive & Family Division. With a team of experienced and dedicated licensed agent-advisors, Jose supports business owners, professionals and their families protect their lifestyle and financial wellbeing. 

Prior to launching INSURENEX, Jose worked with law firms and with sole-practitioners providing general case management and administrative support. During his tour of the U.S. legal system, Jose developed a strong legal background with emphasis in workers’ compensation, civil litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings. With this awareness and understanding, Jose’s commitment to his clients is about them experiencing ‘peace of mind’ as they take on new opportunities, higher levels of growth and success. 

Jose is the recipient of the KCET and Union Bank of California “Local Heroes of the Year Award” during Hispanic Heritage Month; he is an ardent advocate of Education and believes that having an attitude towards constant improvement and a passion for what you do are among the key elements for continued growth and success. When Jose is not in the office, he loves to spend time with family; he is an avid runner and cyclist and is currently training for his 20th full marathon.
