Flood Insurance
To speak to a Licensed Advisor on Adding, Transfering, or Updating your Flood insurance, Homeowners, or other Property insurance policy, please call us directly at TEL. 818.781.8112

If your property is located in a flood zone designated area, you may be required by your lender to obtain a flood insurance policy for your property.  But even when flood insurance is not required by your lender, it may be a good idea to consider obtaining the coverage if you believe your property is vulnerable to a flood risk.

Flood insurance policies are issued by insurance companies that participate with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), a program that is overseen by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  The rates are set by the federal program and the premium for the same coverage will be same with any participating insurance company.  At Alfaro & Alfaro, we pay close attention to the financial stability and claims handling experience of the insurance company.  What is their track record in responding to and/or paying claims?  Do they write only California or do they write flood insurance in other states?

Coverage can be written for most homes, commercial buildings, and condominium associations.  Typically, coverage is made effective within 30 days of submitting an application with the required premium, however, in some instances such as during an Escrow transactionm, evidence that you are applying for flood insurance may be accepted by the lender in order to fund your loan.
